Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance covers your property against loss or damage while in transit and at your travel destination. In addition, most insurance companies will, for an additional charge, extend cover for Personal Accident Benefits in case of accidental bodily injury caused by violent external and visible means where the injury results in death and/or disablement.

In a nutshell, your travel insurance covers your:

  • Baggage and/or personal effects
  • Money/travel tickets

Baggage: Loss or damage to personal belongings, including clothes worn, trunks, suitcases and containers.

Personal Accident: Death; loss of one or more limbs and/or sight of one or both eyes; permanent total disablement; temporary total disablement or temporary partial disablement.

Cancellation and Curtailment Charges: Refund of charges paid, including deposit, or still to be paid accommodation and travel, not otherwise recoverable, should the journey not commence or not be completed.

Medical and Other Expenses: Payment of expenses incurred. These include:

  • Cost of medical, surgical or hospital treatment.
  • Cost of transporting the remains of the insured home, or the cost of burial or cremation in the country abroad where the death occurred.
  • Reasonable additional cost of accommodation and travel expenses in returning home.

Personal Money: loss of cash, travellers’ cheques, travel tickets etc. for use during the period of insurance.

As always the coverage and additional benefits will have limits, and it is important that you check with us at Field Insurance Brokers Inc., and have them explained.
